How to remove backgrounds from multiple images
- Add up to 20 photos (JPG, PNG, WebP or other common formats).
- The first run downloads the AI model to your browser (slower on a weak connection; then it stays cached).
- Images are processed one by one in a queue. Progress shows the real position (e.g.
Processing 3 of 20). - Files over 10 MB are resized in the browser to 4096 px on the long side, or smaller if they're still over 10 MB, before processing.
- Each successful image becomes a transparent PNG. If one fails, the batch continues and the ZIP includes the rest.

Why a bulk background remover?

Is batch background removal private?
Yes. Nothing is uploaded. The model runs locally (WebAssembly / ONNX via @imgly/background-removal), and the ZIP is assembled in the browser. You can check the Network tab: your photos are not sent to a server.

Same stack as our single-image tool: @imgly/background-removal, with a fast preview model and a higher-quality final model. Complex hair or busy backgrounds may still need a light touch-up in an editor.
